Diesel fuel plays a crucial role in the operations of businesses like farms, construction companies, and fleet services throughout the Finger Lakes and Western New York. From powering trucks and generators to fueling equipment essential to industries like marinas and vineyards, diesel ensures work gets done efficiently.
Yet, despite its widespread use, diesel is still surrounded by myths and misconceptions that can lead to confusion, inefficiency, or even unnecessary expenses for businesses. At Hometowne Energy, we’ve worked with countless local businesses in Wayne County and nearby towns, and we understand the importance of getting the facts straight.
This blog will tackle common diesel fuel myths, separate fact from fiction, and explain how businesses in our region can rely on Hometowne Energy for dependable, expert diesel services.
Fact: While diesel often appears to have a higher per-gallon cost at the pump, savvy fleet managers and businesses know that the total cost of operating a diesel-powered vehicle or equipment is often lower in the long run.
At Hometowne Energy, we make budgeting even easier by offering a fixed pricing option for diesel fuel. This unique feature helps local businesses manage fluctuating fuel costs and maintain consistent operating budgets.
Fact: It’s no secret that winter can be brutal in the Finger Lakes and Western New York. However, concerns about diesel gelling or failing in extreme cold are outdated thanks to advancements in fuel technology and proper cold-weather preparation.
When you work with us, you’re not just getting high-quality diesel fuel. You’re partnering with a team that’s prepared to keep your vehicles and equipment protected all year long.
Fact: On-road and off-road diesel serve distinctly different purposes, and it’s important to know the difference to comply with regulations and avoid unnecessary costs.
At Hometowne Energy, we simplify the process with customized fleet fueling services for both on-road and off-road diesel. We can even set up on-site storage tanks and pumps at your business, so your employees spend less time looking for fueling stations and more time handling the tasks that matter most.
Fact: Diesel has come a long way in recent years and isn’t the pollutant it’s often made out to be. Modern ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) fuels, in combination with advanced engine technologies, significantly reduce emissions.
For industries like marinas, vineyards, and farms in the Finger Lakes region, diesel is not only relevant but an essential, reliable energy source. It powers the specialized equipment that keeps operations running smoothly.
Additionally, our commitment to quality fuel ensures that businesses relying on Hometowne Energy are powering their operations with cleaner, more efficient diesel.
Fact: Not all diesel suppliers are created equal, and selecting the right partner can make all the difference in your operations.
