Have you changed or cleaned your air filter lately? In general, this is a good thing to do every three months or so, but in the winter, you should take care of it every month. Your propane furnace or heating oil furnace exerts quite a bit of energy to keep you warm in your Western New York home. Help keep it running smoothly by preventing a clogged air filter.
If you use disposable filters, buy a few at the beginning of the season, so you don’t have to run out on a frigid day to pick up a new one. If your air filter requires cleaning, take a few minutes each month to keep it in tip-top shape.
Dust, hair and other small particles are easy to avoid with the right precautions and planning. A clean air filter allows your furnace to run smoothly and will help you avoid the need for expensive, unexpected repairs, which usually come at the worst possible time.
When you take the time and small investment to keep your filters clean and replace them regularly, you’ll save time and improve your at-home experience. If you’re not sure of what to do to clean or swap out your air filter, contact us and we will be happy to walk you through it.
